Delegates attending the 66th General Assembly of the National Churches Fellowship of Nepal (NCF Nepal) have elected Rev. Kiran Kumar Pariyar as the organization's new President, ushering in a new three-year leadership term for Nepal's oldest national evangelical church fellowship.
The election took place on the final day of the two-day General Assembly, held on June 1–2 in Kathmandu. Rev. Pariyar won the presidency with 359 votes, defeating Pastor B.B. Karki, who received 321 votes, according to the NCF Nepal Election Committee. The official results were announced by the committee's coordinator, Pastor Chandraman Nepali.
Alongside the presidential election, delegates elected a new executive committee to lead the fellowship for the next three years. Tara Singh Gurung was elected Vice President, Ishwar Pratap Lama as Secretary, and Bir Bahadur Tamang as Treasurer.
The newly elected Executive Committee members are Pastor Uday Raj Bhatt, Pastor Chhabi Moktan, Pastor Padam Prasad Sedai, Pastor Mahesh Dong, and Pastor Bodhraj Sunuwar (Ashok).
In his first address after the election, Rev. Pariyar expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by church leaders and delegates. He pledged to strengthen fellowship among churches, develop Christian leadership, and advance the mission of NCF Nepal across the country.
Reflecting on the growth of Christianity in Nepal, Rev. Pariyar said the Church has expanded significantly since its early beginnings in the 1950s. He estimated Nepal's Christian population at more than three million, noting that the figure is based on estimates from Christian organizations and leaders rather than official census statistics.
Established in 1960, the National Churches Fellowship of Nepal (NCF Nepal) is recognized as Nepal's first national evangelical church fellowship. According to outgoing President Rev. Hanok Tamang, the organization represents approximately 4,000 churches throughout the country.
NCF Nepal also maintains partnerships with the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and the Asia Evangelical Alliance (AEA), working to promote church unity, leadership development, and collaborative ministry.
The newly elected leadership is expected to guide the fellowship's strategic priorities over the next three years as Nepal's evangelical community continues to grow and strengthen its engagement in ministry and society.
