Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary will host the second annual East Asian Christianity Conference in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, from April 9 to 11, 2026.
Titled "Christian Witness and Presence among East Asian Religions," the conference will bring "scholars and practitioners together to engage comparative research on Christianity's development and significance in East Asia, with implications for church ministry and mission today."
Launched in 2025, this year's conference will feature eight scholars from both the East and the West, including Dr. Todd Johnson, co-director of Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Rev. Dr. Jae Hoon Lee, senior pastor of Onnuri Church, Dr. Zhiqiu Xu, dean of Kepha Institute and professor of Columbia International University, Peng Yang, a senior research fellow, and Dr. Jiushuang Chen, visiting research scholar at Fuller Theological Seminary. The topics will cover Christianity among Asian religions, ecumenical theology in Asia, Christianity and Buddhism, Christian and Confucianism, missional ecclesiology, and art. The conference will also feature corporate worship and prayer sessions.
